The Dance Clinic is an associated brand to the Kaizen Centre and operates both from the performance centre itself and it’s own studio on Carver Street. With a wealth of experience in the dance industry, the team works with companies and schools, with dancers of all ages and styles and offers injury repair and rehabilitation, as well as dance specific strength and conditioning programmes.
Dance injury treatment
We don’t do dance! We do dance performance enhancement! Team members have vast experience working as integral members of the Birmingham Royal Ballet, both as performers, performance enhancement coaches and injury specialists. Like all athletes, dancers of all ages who work at their limits will get injured and need a sound strategy and development plan to get them back to the top of their game.
Dance Clinic works with dancers from all genres, ballet, contemporary, disco, ballroom, Irish dancing and more. The team is currently working with individuals and dance schools who consider us an extension to the management and teaching team, enabling their dancers to perform at their very best.
On site Day Clinics offer screening and assessment of dancers, whether injured or not. Sound postural assessment begins the process to identify possible issues or root causes of longer term problems. Management programmes are then provided to prevent or recover injuries and allow for the creation of developmental strategies to lift the ability of any dancer.
As well as working with dance schools and companies, Dance Clinic works in conjunction with renowned dance experts and holds regular Screening and Assessment Days. These are a great opportunity for young dancers to have a considered and experienced view of technique and skill, have a thorough analysis of their posture and injury history and potential, then a relevant and specific programme of strength and conditioning provided.
